Experience the essence of Tanzania on this 8 Days Best of North Tanzania Safari through its most celebrated parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti. Start your adventure at Arumeru River Lodge, a peaceful retreat set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. From here, journey to Tarangire National Park, where enormous herds of elephants and other iconic wildlife gather around the Tarangire River. Stay at Nimali Tarangire, a luxury tented camp offering exclusive access to private areas of the park for night drives, bush walks, and unforgettable sundowners.
Next, explore the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, staying at the Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp perched on the crater’s rim. This prime location offers easy access to the crater floor, where you’ll encounter dense wildlife populations including lions, buffalo, and rhinos. The safari concludes in the Serengeti National Park, at the Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp in the heart of the game-rich Seronera Valley. Here, you’ll witness the incredible Great Migration, roam vast plains on game drives, and have the chance to soar above the savannah in a hot-air balloon. This Tanzania Safari is the perfect blend of adventure and luxury for wildlife enthusiasts.
Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and assisted transfer to Arumeru River Lodge. Located on an old coffee plantation, Arumeru River Lodge is an oasis of tranquillity, set amongst lush tropical gardens boasting wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. The main lodge is a large open space divided into bar, large seating area with fireplace and restaurant. The restaurant also spills out onto a patio with views of the very well-kept gardens and to Kilimanjaro on a clear day. After a delicious breakfast, you will be assisted transfer to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival you will be assisted check in at Nimali Tarangire. During the dry season (June to September) thousands of animals including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, and the rarely seen oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. Spend the day enjoying game drives in the area, with picnic lunch included. With only six tented suites on offer and located in a private reserve adjoining Tarangire National Park, Nimali Tarangire is perfect for privacy-seeking and discerning safari travellers. A destination that is generally part of the northern Tanzania safari circuit, Tarangire is less than a 3-hour drive from the international airport at Arusha, making the park and Nimali Tarangire a convenient start to your Tanzanian safari. The camp is set on the thickly vegetated banks of a seasonal river; the use of natural materials and canvas ensures Nimali Tarangire blends into this primal and untouched landscape.
The Location of Nimali Tarangire on its own concession allows for activities not offered in National Parks like the Serengeti. Guest are able to participate in night drives and walks and we also offer bush lunches, night drives and sundowners.

This morning, after days full of wildlife and adventure, you will leave the savanna and drive back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to over 25,000 animals, and has a dramatically different landscape than that of the Serengeti. Lush jungles line the crater slopes, contrasting the plains of the floor and the expansive surrounding plateaus. Check in at the Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp. The camp enjoys a superlative location perched on the rim of the crater, close to the access road that leads to the crater floor. Location is key and this epic position allows our guests to beat the crowds and be among the first to reach the action in a journey that takes less than 15 minutes. From here, enjoy incredible access to the abundance of wildlife that calls the crater home, including zebra, buffalo, warthog, wildebeest, hippo, elephants, and a variety of predators – think lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and even the elusive leopard.
Early this morning, you will embark on a half-day game drive to the crater floor. Over a short period of time, you will traverse a unique cross-section of ecosystems, moving from the jungle slopes across the savanna to the central soda lake on the crater floor. The caldera acts as a natural enclosure for wildlife, which leads to some of the densest populations of lions on the continent. The area is also home to a number of black rhinoceros, which are the subject of intense conservation initiatives. During this period of unprecedented poaching, it will be interesting to speak with your guide regarding his experiences and perspectives. Take time to explore the flamingo-filled lakes, characteristic of the Great Rift Valley, before returning to the lodge in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have the option to join the lodge on one of many hikes that they offer in the region. A walk through the highlands carries you past a series of extinct volcanoes towards the crater rim. As you hike through the forest and grassland, you will be rewarded with great views of the Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti and the Gol Mountains.

let’s know more About Tanzania
The dry season, from June to October, is ideal for safaris due to excellent wildlife viewing. This period offers clear skies and easy game spotting. The Great Migration occurs in the Serengeti during this time, making it one of the most popular and rewarding seasons for safari enthusiasts.
Top parks include the Serengeti for the Great Migration, Ngorongoro Crater for Big Five sightings, Tarangire for elephants and baobabs, and Selous or Ruaha for off-the-beaten-path experiences. Each park offers unique landscapes and wildlife encounters, allowing travellers to experience Tanzania’s rich biodiversity and iconic safari moments.
A typical safari lasts 5 to 10 days, depending on how many parks you wish to visit. Shorter trips are great for focused experiences, while longer itineraries allow for deeper exploration. Adding a Zanzibar beach extension is popular for relaxation after the wildlife adventure.
Tanzania is home to the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — plus cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, wildebeests, and hundreds of bird species. The Serengeti also hosts the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains in search of fresh grazing.
Yes, many lodges offer family-friendly options and activities for children. Some camps provide junior ranger programs, nature walks, and flexible game drives. Always check age restrictions for certain parks or lodges. A family safari can be an educational, exciting, and unforgettable bonding experience for kids and parents alike.
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes. Don’t forget binoculars, a camera, insect repellent, and any required medications. Mornings can be chilly, so include a light jacket. Most lodges offer laundry services, allowing you to pack light while staying comfortable throughout your safari.
