Welcome to Kholle House built in 1860 and located in the heart of Stone Town – a magnificent showcase for Princess Kholle’s most treasured artifacts and collectables, and a place to entertain friends and visiting dignitaries.
The house has been lovingly renovated over a three year period into a boutique hotel. Each of the eleven rooms and apartments are uniquely designed using a combination of Swahili and French-Creole influences.
Kholle House is not only rich with history but also colour. Turmeric walls, stained window details and polished, nutmeg-coloured floors, with inlaid marble accents from the original build, are reminiscent of local spices and reflect the vibrant Zanzibari culture.
